Sing With Us

We’d love to have you join us, either in September or January, when our rehearsals begin for the season’s concerts. Besides the joy of singing, the beauty of the music, the bonding with other singers, and the vibrant rehearsals (thanks to our Director’s skill and humor), singing is good for your physical and mental health. Founded in 1982, Siskiyou Singers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community choir composed of enthusiastic residents from the Rogue Valley who enjoy learning a wide choral repertoire, from classical works to popular fare.

Auditions

Don’t stress about auditions. They’re brief, and if you can read music and stay on pitch, you’ll be welcomed.

Audition Info

We rehearse September to May, Tuesdays 7:00–9:30 p.m. in Ashland, and present two concerts a year (winter and spring) at the SOU Music Recital Hall.

We also have an educational outreach program and travel abroad to sing in a variety of musical venues.

Mission Statement

To promote and enrich musical culture in the Rogue Valley.

We pursue that mission through imaginative programming, strong musical standards, meaningful community connection, and opportunities for singers and audiences alike to experience choral music at a high level.

Our Values

Excellence in Singing: We perform choral music that is recognized as excellent in both performance quality and imaginative programming.

Hospitality: We provide a welcoming environment for all choir members and encourage choir collegiality and sense of community.

Diversity: We strive to be inclusive in the types of musical programs we offer and in our efforts to widen the demographics of our choir membership and our audiences.

Approachability: We provide the opportunity to enjoy choral music, either as an audience member or as a singer. We keep ticket prices and membership fees as low as possible so that there is as little financial barrier as possible to all.

Sustainability: Our Board manages choir operations with a focus on long term choir sustainability. This includes development and execution of plans to address the imperatives of financial sustainability, choir vitality and audience development.

Transparency: The Board of Directors is proactive in providing choir members with access to current information about board discussions, issues and actions, as well as choir financial status.
