The short version
- We collect your name and contact details only when you give them to us on a form.
- We use Google Analytics and a Facebook advertising tag to see which pages people read and to promote our concerts.
- We never see your credit card number. PayPal handles every payment.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
- Write to info@siskiyousingers.org and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.
Siskiyou Singers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community choir in Ashland, Oregon. This page explains what siskiyousingers.org collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.
When you read the site
You do not need an account to read this website. Two services measure visits:
- Google Analytics tells us which pages people open, which day they open them, and roughly which region they come from. It does not tell us your name. We use it to learn which concert pages people actually read.
- The Meta advertising tag reports your visit to Facebook and Instagram. We buy advertisements there for our concerts. The tag lets us show those advertisements to people who already looked at this site.
Both services place a small file, called a cookie, in your browser. The section Cookies, and how to turn them off tells you how to stop them.
When you buy a ticket
We record your name, your email address, the concert date, how many tickets you bought, and the amount you paid. We send you a confirmation by email and keep the order so we can find your tickets at the door.
PayPal collects and processes your card details on its own pages. We never see or store your card number.
When you register to sing
A singer registration asks for your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, birth month, voice part, and an emergency contact name and telephone number.
We use the emergency contact only in an emergency at a rehearsal or a concert. We use the birth month for the birthday list that the choir reads at rehearsal. Tell us if you prefer that we leave you off that list.
When you sponsor or advertise
A sponsor or advertiser gives us a contact name, an organization name, an email address, a telephone number, a mailing address, and any message. We use these details to prepare the program advertisement and to send the invoice and the receipt.
When you send feedback
The feedback button records your message, the page you were on, and the name of your browser. Your name and email address are optional. Give them to us only if you want an answer.
Member and board pages
The member pages and the board pages ask for a passphrase. When you enter the correct passphrase, the site puts a sign-in cookie in your browser so you do not type it again on every page. That cookie holds no personal information. It expires after 180 days, and you remove it by clearing the cookies in your browser.
Who else sees this information
We use these companies to run the choir. Each one sees only the information its job needs.
| Company | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| PayPal | Takes ticket payments, registration fees, and donations. |
| Salesforce | Holds our membership, donor, and advertiser records. |
| Neon | Stores ticket orders and feedback messages. |
| Resend | Sends the confirmation and receipt emails. |
| Vercel | Runs the website itself. |
| Measures page visits through Google Analytics. | |
| Meta | Runs our Facebook and Instagram concert advertisements. |
What we never do
- We never sell your information.
- We never rent or trade our mailing list.
- We never publish a singer's address or telephone number on a public page.
- We never ask you for a bank account number or a social security number.
Your choices
Write to info@siskiyousingers.org and ask us to do any of the following:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Stop sending you email.
We answer within 30 days. We keep ticket orders and donation records for seven years, because our accountant and the Internal Revenue Service require them.
Children
This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 13. A parent or a guardian registers a student singer and gives us the contact details.
Changes to this page
We update this page when the site changes. The date at the top tells you when we last changed it.
