Manage the choir@siskiyousingers.org Google Group
This group is the single, authoritative list used for rehearsal and performance communications. President and Artistic Director co-own stewardship so the same people receive the same communications from both leaders. The Database Manager is also a steward of this page. Messages sent to this group also trigger the Members website automation (see Members Archives), so please use the group for all official choir-wide emails.
- Go to the Google Groups management page.
- The President and Artistic Director should both be Managers; if one loses access, the other can restore it under Members β Roles.
- From the group, choose Members β Add members.
- Paste one or more email addresses (use personal emails, not work addresses prone to spam filters).
- Subscription: set to Each email so members receive all announcements.
- For singers not returning this term: change Subscription to No email to pause without losing history.
- For singers not returning to the choir at all: use Members β Remove.
- email.archives@siskiyousingers.org is a member of the group. Including this address ensures emails are posted to the Members page.
- Compare the group roster to the current registration roster; update adds/drops so both of you are emailing the same list.
- Spot-check bounces: search for Delivery status notification; fix typos or ask the singer for an alternate email.
- Temporary includes: Director may add anticipated members; President converts them to full members once registration is complete.
- The email footer can be edited as needed. Review it regularly for content and accuracy.
